Veronica Webb in “The Mechanic”

I photographed Veronica Webb in a garage in Queens in the dead of winter while I was six months pregnant! The choice of location was intentional: an unembellished, utilitarian space that could hold its own against the strength of the clothes. The cold registered in her body and informed the images, sharpening the contrastbetween environment and wardrobe.
