When Luka Sabbat and I began working on this editorial, he asked if his then-girlfriend could join us on the shoot. We photographed them on the beach in Coney Island, a place historically tied to youth, leisure, and escape. The setting carries a residual sense of intimacy and nostalgia, allowing the images to register companionship and ease within a landscape long associated with young love and adventure.
