Karina Knapp “The Great Coats Are Coming”

Coats emerged as a defining element of the season captured in this editorial, and I wanted to establish a visual throughline that emphasized silhouette without repetition. To do this, I introduced the humble stocking as a recurring device. Worn with nothing but the coat, the stocking shifts function—becoming a belt, a mask, or leggings—allowing each look to feel distinct while keeping focus on proportion and form. The gesture is simple and slightly subversive, using an everyday object to reframe the coat as both structure and statement.
