Helena Sopar in “Recepcija"

Helena Sopar is one of the most successful models to emerge from Croatia—and she also happens to be my cousin. I photographed Helena in and around our hometown and island, returning to some of our favorite old-school haunts. Alongside the fashion portraits, I included quiet, observational moments of Croatia itself: sheep crossing the road as they move between grazing grounds, and the lighting of candles by nuns beneath the arches of Kamenita Vrata in Zagreb. These details ground the editorial in place and memory, blending elements of tradition with contemporary designers to create a visual dialogue between heritage, daily ritual, and modern fashion.
